Why Hyperbaric Exists
Callum discovered hyperbaric oxygen therapy through his own health journey. After seeing first-hand the difference it made, he set out to make the same technology accessible to everyday New Zealanders. In New Zealand, publicly funded HBOT is limited to just 14 specific conditions — leaving most people without access to a therapy that could genuinely help them.
Funded conditions: air/gas embolism, carbon monoxide poisoning, gas gangrene, decompression sickness, vascular insufficiencies, severe anaemia, intracranial abscess, necrotising soft tissue infections, refractory osteomyelitis, delayed radiation injury, compromised grafts & flaps, acute thermal burns, and idiopathic sudden sensorineural hearing loss.
What started as a personal mission has grown into a trusted business helping hundreds of New Zealand families experience the potential benefits of increased oxygen, from improved sleep and supporting recovery to complementing the management of chronic conditions.

In Our Own Words
We Live and Breathe Hyperbaric
Before starting Hyperbaric Christchurch, Bex was working as a holistic health coach and in the yoga industry, helping people who were unwell and wanting to do better with their lives. Then she experienced her own chronic illness: a central sensitised nervous system, trigeminal neuralgia, and chronic pain that made every day a struggle. HBOT gave her her life back.
Callum's background as a qualified electrical technician means he knows the ins and outs of every chamber, and he personally maintains them for customers. His own recovery came after injuring his ulnar artery and nerve as a tradesperson. Doctors told him he may never feel or have full use of his hand again. Through hyperbaric oxygen therapy, that was returned to him.
Those experiences changed everything. They got such life-changing benefits from HBOT that helping others access it became their mission.
